At Disney's Old Key West Resort, the main pool area is located behind Olivia's Café and is open from 7 a.m. - Midnight. You will find a hot tub and sauna here as well. For the children, there is a children's wading pool and a sandy playground. There are three other pools spread throughout the resort and pool towels are available at all pool areas. There are lifeguards on the premises, but the hours may vary. Flotation devices are available, free of charge, at Hank's Rent 'n Return. Note that diaper-age children are required to wear plastic pants or swim diapers. There is a white sand beach with a volleyball court, along the Trumbo Canal, but swimming is not allowed.
Rentals of watercraft such as pontoon boats, canopy boats, pedal boats and water bikes are available from 10 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. A jogging trail winds its way from the streets of Disney’s Old Key West Resort to Saratoga Springs Resort. Pick up the path along the canal to Saratoga Springs between buildings 54 & 55. Guests can jog or rent bicycles, including the ever-popular Surrey bikes, for use along the path. These are offered at Hank's Rent 'n Return from 9 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
A basketball court, shuffleboard, 2 arcades (Electric Eel Arcade, near main pool and Flying Fish Arcade, near Turtle Shack pool) and the R.E.S.T. (Recreation, Exercise, Swimming and Tennis) Beach Recreation Department fitness center is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to midnight. Youths 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult here. Available free of charge to guests of the Walt Disney World Resort, this fitness center features Nautilus, Lifecycle, Lifestep, treadmills and free weights.
Three tennis courts are available for tennis lovers. Two courts are lighted for night play. Equipment is available to rent for those in need. If relaxing with a video appeals to you after a busy day in the parks, videos are available at Community Hall. There is a charge for rentals for non-DVC members but video rentals are free to DVC members. Community Hall also offers free air hockey, pool, foosball, darts, Playstation 3 and poolside family movies, select nights/weather permitting. Nothing to do on a rainy day? Head over to Community Hall to see what's planned for the day. "Hank's Happenings", a newsletter you receive at check-in, will list other daily activities for guests to participate in. Trivia contests, Goofy Bingo and mini-putt golf are a few of the offerings.
