Gibraltar
The following applies to all excursions:
You should never feel that gratuities are expected from you. However, it is customary to leave a few extra Euros in recognition of service at restaurants, for taxis, and for exceptional excursion guides and drivers. It is always up to you as to what you feel is appropriate.
City Under Siege (3.5 - 4 hours)
Take an approximate 10-minute drive to the base of the "Rock" of Gibraltar.
Ascend the rock on a cable car to the Top Station, home to a World War II gun emplacement. Note: In peak season, wait times can be up to 45 minutes for the cable car.
Wander the old battery site, shop for souvenirs or simply enjoy the spectacular ocean views while learning about the history during your 40-minute stop. Note: You will walk a distance of approximately 0.7 miles on flat, uphill and uneven terrain, and must be able to ascend up to 50 stairs during the tour. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
Journey back down the mountain to the Middle Station and enjoy a stroll through the sanctuary of the Barbary Apes, the only indigenous monkeys in all of Europe and Gibraltar's most famous inhabitants. Note: Barbary Apes are wild animals. Be advised to never touch or feed the apes at any time and to keep all food items out of sight, as the apes are known to snatch things. In addition, please note that there is a strict fine for anyone caught feeding the apes.
From the sanctuary, travel to Princess Caroline's Battery and the entrance of the Great Siege Tunnels. Enjoy a 30-minute guided walking tour through this labyrinth of tunnels, constructed as a massive defense system by the Royal Engineers of Great Britain to ward off attacks by France and Spain during the "Great Siege."
Continue to the Gibraltar Museum where you will have approximately 30 minutes to view the many artifacts on display, explore the remnants of the ancient Moorish Baths or watch a 15-minute film on the peninsula before the 15-minute drive back to the ship.

Dolphin World (1.5 - 2 hours)
Take a 5-minute drive to the boat dock.
Board the Brixham Belle ferry in the heart of the Gibraltar marina and embark on a cruise into the waters of the "gateway to the Mediterranean," the Straits of Gibraltar, in search of the ocean's friendly inhabitants: the Bottlenose, Striped and Common dolphins.
Enjoy an informative commentary including the history behind the "Rock" as you cruise amidst the breathtaking backdrop of Africa and Spain. A complimentary beverage will be offered during your tour.
Catch a glimpse of the many wild dolphins that inhabit the bay as they play in their natural habitat, sometimes quite close to the boat. Note: Dolphin sightings, although very likely, cannot be guaranteed.
Return to the dock and take the 5-minute drive back to the ship.
- This tour is available to All Ages; since it involves a boat/vessel, infants under 3 years of age must have a child's ticket.

Explore the Rock on Your Own (2 - 2.5 hours)
Take an approximate 10-minute drive to the cable car station.
Scale the most famous landmark in Gibraltar, the world-famous "Rock," on a cable car ride to the Top Station, passing the Botanical Gardens and Ape's Den along the way, and take in the breathtaking panoramic views of Africa, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.
Once at the top, enjoy a drink or snack at the restaurant and bar before making your way to the Top Station Terraces on a fascinating self-guided audio tour detailing the illustrious history of Gibraltar and its fortifications.
Stroll along the walkways amidst the sanctuary of the Barbary Apes, the only indigenous monkeys in all of Europe, and Gibraltar's oldest inhabitants. Note: Barbary Apes are wild animals. Your ticket includes return transportation to the ship from the bottom cable car station until 3 hours after the tour has commenced, after which time you will be responsible for your own taxi back to the ship.

Fortress Gibraltar (1.5 - 2 hours)
Drive along the coastline to Europa Point, where a brief stop will be made to take in the stunning views of the Straits of Gibraltar, North Africa and the Mediterranean.
Continue to the British/Spanish land frontier and onto the mouth of the World War II Tunnels.
Along the way, learn the fascinating history of Gibraltar's age-old labyrinth of fortifications, which comprise 30 miles of interconnected tunnels.
Upon your arrival at Hay's Level at the mouth of the World War II Tunnels, embark on a guided walking tour through a fascinating exhibition where photographs and maps help illustrate the construction of the tunnels and life inside them. Note: This is a walking tour including up to 1 mile on flat, uneven and uphill surfaces. Guests should wear comfortable walking shoes.
Take an approximate 15-minute drive back to the ship.

Gibraltar Walking Tour (3.5 - 4 hours)
Take an approximate 10-minute drive before boarding a cable car for the ascent to the top of the "Rock."
Wander the old battery site, home to a World War II gun emplacement, or shop for souvenirs for 30 minutes before embarking on a walking tour of the amazing St. Michael's Cave, featuring stalagmites and stalactites and a spectacular concert auditorium built inside the caves. Beginning about 350 meters above sea level and descending deep into "the Rock," St. Michael's Cave was once believed to be the territorial bridge between Gibraltar and Africa. Note: This tour includes up to 1.5 miles of walking, including some steep inclines, and up to 50 stairs. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Panoramic Gibraltar and English Tea (2 - 2.5 hours)
Journey north along Gibraltar's unique runway to the Spanish border, passing the American War Memorial and Trafalgar Cemetery, as you make your way to Europa Point. Located at the southernmost point of Gibraltar, this seaside perch offers breathtaking views of the Straits of Gibraltar, the towering Rif Mountains of Morocco and the Spanish towns amidst Gibraltar Bay.
Snap a picture of the Mosque, the Catholic shrine and the lighthouse.
Next, take a short drive to the Caleta Hotel and enjoy an English-style tea (included in the price of this tour) amidst the spectacular coastal views of the magnificent Mediterranean. On a clear day, you will be able to see the North African coast on the opposite side of the Straits of Gibraltar.
Take a 10-minute drive back to the ship.

Rock Tour (1.5 - 2 hours)
Take an approximate 30-minute drive up the "Rock" of Gibraltar to St Michael's Cave.
Enjoy a guided 30-minute walking tour of the amazing St. Michael's Cave, featuring stalagmites and stalactites and a spectacular concert auditorium built inside the caves. Beginning about 350 meters above sea level and descending deep into the "Rock," St. Michael's Cave was once believed to be the territorial bridge between Gibraltar and Africa. Note: There are 75 steps to ascend when exiting the cave. However, Guests with walking difficulties will be allowed to exit via the entry point and avoid the steps altogether. In addition, you will walk approximately 500 feet to and from the bus during the tour. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
Spend some time with the unofficial "ambassadors" of Gibraltar, the Barbary Apes, during an unguided tour of the rocky slopes where they dwell. Note: Barbary Apes are wild animals. Be advised to never touch or feed the apes at any time and to keep all food items out of sight, as the apes are known to snatch things. In addition, please note that there is a strict fine for anyone caught feeding the apes.
Next, re-board the bus and make your way through winding roads, past the Moorish Castle, to the southernmost point of Gibraltar, Europa Point. This seaside perch overlooking one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world offers breathtaking views of the Straits of Gibraltar, the north coast of Africa and the Spanish towns amidst Gibraltar Bay.
Pass the British/Spanish border on your way back to the ship.
