Disney Cruise Line
7 Night Disney Cruises

Adult Activities & Entertainment

Mention the word "Disney" to most people and the first thought to follow is "children". Happily, Disney Cruise Line recognizes that adults need their own wonderful cruise experience, and they have designed the ship and activities so that adults can literally almost never run into children on the cruise, if they choose not to do so.
Here are a few of the "adults-only" amenities that

Disney Cruise Line provides:

  • Separate adults-only pool on Deck 9
  • Palo, the adults-only restaurant (covered in dining section)
  • A separate, private adults-only beach on Castaway Cay (covered in Castaway Cay section)
  • Vista Spa & Salon (covered in separate section)
  • Beat Street, an adults-only entertainment area (covered below).  On the Wonder, this area is called Route 66
  • Internet Cafe- a just for adults multimedia section located just off of the Promenade lounge.
  • The Cove is exclusive to adult guests 18 years of age and older and offers specialty coffees and drinks. This new coffee bar is only accessible via the adult pool area located deck 9 forward. A completely new entrance has been created as well as 'partitions' that help to separate the space for adults from the family pool area. Beautifully decorated in the Art Deco style, The Cove is inviting and warm. A large screen TV, Wurlitzer jukebox, ample seating and Internet Access suggest this will be a popular spot among adult guests.
The 7-day cruise is chock full of other activities and special programming just for adults. For the 7-day cruise, three programming "tracks" were added with special presentations throughout the cruise:
  • The Art of Entertaining - Learn the art of gracious entertaining, from creating a menu of innovative culinary creations and pairing wines with meals, to designing professional-looking invitations and party decor.
  • Disney Behind the Scenes -- See the innovation behind the magic as experts lead you "backstage," where they will uncover what's behind the curtain of the Walt Disney Theatre, what a captain sees from high atop the bridge and what's cooking behind galley doors. From film buffs and amateur animators to admirers of architecture and broadcasting, everyone who's ever had an interest in the wonderful world of Disney will enjoy hearing about Disney projects through the years and across the globe.
  • Navigating the Seas -- Dive into the mysteries of the sea, steering through the complexities of how a ship is built and how mariners have relied for years on the stars to guide them.
Adults can also choose from a variety of other daytime activities and presentations:
  • Wines of the World Cellar Master Presentation
  • Stem to Stern Wine Tasting
  • Champagne brunch at Palo (covered in Dining section)
  • High tea at Palo (covered in Dining section)
  • Jackpot Bingo
  • Bridge games and tournaments
  • Volleyball games and tournaments
  • Ping pong games and tournaments
  • Movies (both family films and those for mature audiences)

Beat Street Entertainment District
- An entire section of Deck 3 is devoted to the nighttime entertainment of adults. Beat Street features Rockin' Bar D, a dance club; Off Beat, a musical comedy club; and Sessions, a relaxing piano lounge. Throughout the 7-day cruise, adults can enjoy some of these fun activities on Beat Street: Diversions,
50s and 60s Sock Hop, Cabaret Showtime, Adult Karaoke, 70s Disco Night and Match Your Mate Game Show.

Beat Street

"Beat Street" Entertainment District- Disney Magic

Set up of Beat Street is similar to that of Rout 66 except the look of some of the clubs is different. Here you will find Sessions, Off-Beat, and Rockin' Bar D.

Take a quick stroll down Beat Street

Sessions is the Disney Magic's equivalent to the Disney Wonder's Cadillac Lounge. The lounge has a very sophisticated ambiance with an Art Deco theme and trimmed in colors like burgundy and purple. It opens at 1:00pm and you can find plush chairs and couches to lounge on, over-sized portholes which give a spectacular view of the ocean and headphone "music stations" where you can choose from a large selection of cd's to listen to and relax. Children under the age of 18 are not allowed in this lounge.

Diversions -
A place for adult cruisers to enjoy a cocktail, play games and even enjoy a televised sporting event on one of the many large screen TV's. This friendly 'pub like' atmosphere comes complete with comfortable seating and tabletop board games that invite cruisers to kick-back and have some fun.

Rockin' Bar D is located on deck 3 forward and is one of the two dance club on the ship. During your cruise you can do everything from dance contests to see a comedy/ventriloquist show. Most of the entertainment is family oriented but you will find a couple of shows that have an age restriction of 18+.

Studio Sea can be found on both ships and is situated on deck 4 mid-ship. You can bring the whole family in for "Family Karaoke" or compete in a dance contest, join the crew for a "Meet the Crew" party, or see a comedy show. This bar plays host to a number of fun and exciting activities which is sure to satisfy everyone's taste.

The Promenade LoungLocated mid-ship on deck 3 on both the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder you can find The Promenade Lounge. The Promenade lounge is spacious and has a classy atmosphere, accented by flamed wood grain panels and large porthole views. You can catch lounge acts performing in the evenings, and on the Disney Magic you can catch the Walt Disney Theater troupe giving impromptu performances of their favorite Broadway musical show tunes (a refreshing break from the norm). During the day it fosters a quiet, relaxed feeling where you can catch the news on any one of a number of tv sets and enjoy drinks and complimentary snacks with friends and family.

Internet Cafe

Internet Cafe Located on Deck 3 (near the Promenade Lounge) is the Internet Cafe. This group of 16 terminals provides high-speed access to the internet via the ships on-board satellite system. The cost of access is either $0.75 per minute or a flat fee of $89.99 for the duration of your cruise (7 nights). From here, you can access just about any web site, send a photo-postcard to a friend (or to yourself), as well as send & receive email through any web-based email account. The cafe is open 24 hours a day.

If you think you're going to spend more than 20 minutes a day checking emails or surfing the web, then the unlimited plan is perfect.

HOW IT WORKS

The system is very easy to use. The first time you use it, you will enter the first initial of your name along with your last name and stateroom number. This becomes your user name. So, if your John Smith in room 8068, your user name is jsmith8068. At the time you first sign up, your password will be your birth date (keeping in mind that Disney has every passengers birth date as it's mandatory information for booking a cruise). After you enter it the first time, you will be required to change it to something else.

At the end of each session, you will receive a print out of your activity and the cost for that session. As with everything else on-board, all costs associated with the Internet Cafe are charged back to your stateroom.

WHAT ABOUT EMAIL:

You have two options when it comes to email. You can use a web based email account(like DISMail), or you can use an email account that is created for you when you first log on using the Internet Cafe. Your email address becomes your first initial, last name & cabin number, followed by @magic.cruisemail.net So, if you're John Smith in cabin 8068, your email address would be jsmit8068@magic.cruisemail.net Please keep in mind that all per minute charges apply while you are composing your emails, and there is also an additional $3,95 fee for each email you send (using the cruisemail.net account), and a fee of $4.95 per video email.
