FANTASYLAND
This enchanting land
makes the magic and wonder of famous childhood stories come to life.
Located just beyond Sleeping Beauty's castle, Fantasyland brings out the
child in all of us with it's imaginative rides, rich characters and
striking architecture.
ATTRACTIONS
ALICE IN WONDERLAND - Climb aboard your "bug" and journey with Alice as she falls
down the rabbit hole. Of course you're bound to meet up with some of the
famous characters from the story, like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the
Queen of Hearts and that grinning Cheshire Cat! Guests in wheelchairs
must transfer to ride.
CASEY JR. CIRCUS TRAIN - This tiny
train travels through a hilly area and offers views of Storybook Land.
Guests climb aboard different circus cars, and adults should be warned
that the quarters are quite cramped inside. Just like the little Engine
that Could, listen as the engine chugs and discovers that it can indeed
make it around the track. Guests in wheelchairs must transfer to ride.
DUMBO THE FLYING ELEPHANT
- This
attraction is a virtual child magnet, as children find the flying
elephants irresistible! Climb aboard your elephant and control the
ascent and descent as you travel in this circular ride. If you have
little ones who must ride, be sure and do it early as this is a slow
loading ride and lines can get very long.
FANTASYLAND THEATRE (See
Entertainment section.)
"IT'S A SMALL WORLD"
- Travel on a slow moving boat and journey through all the lands of the
world as singing dolls dressed in native garb remind you that we're all
part of the same big happy family! During Christmas, this attraction is
completely re-done with a holiday theme and the dolls sing special a
special holiday version of the song. This ride is wheelchair accessible.
KING ARTHUR CARROUSEL - This
enchanting classic merry-go-round features 72 hand carved and painted
proud horses - each of them was named by a Disney designer! Guest in
wheelchairs must transfer to ride.
MAD TEA PARTY - If spinning is your
cup of tea, this is the ride for you! Climb aboard your personal teacup
and enjoy the spin around under the lanterns…you can add a little
extra spin by turning the wheel inside your cup. This ride is also fun
at night, when the lanterns are lit. If you are prone to motion
sickness, skip this attraction!
MATTERHORN BOBSLEDS - Towering
above Fantasyland, the Matterhorn is the quintessential icon of
Disneyland Ò. The Matterhorn is actually a 1/100th scale reproduction of
the famous mountain in Switzerland. To ride the bobsleds, guests enter
from queues on both sides of the mountain (one track goes inside and is
"tamer", the outside track is a little wilder.) You sit
toboggan-style, with riders nestled inside the legs of the rider behind.
Once aboard, you'll zip and bump your way through your mountain
expedition. Must be at least three years old
to ride. Guests in wheelchairs must transfer to ride. Guests with back,
neck or heart problems, pregnant women, or those affected by motion
sickness should not ride.
MR. TOAD'S WILD RIDE - Hop in and
hold tight on this journey through the library of Toad Hall and the city
streets. You'll twist and turn along the way during your adventure, and
watch out for speeding trains! Guests in wheelchairs must transfer to
ride.
PETER PLAN'S FLIGHT - Join Peter in
his flying pirate ship as you travel high above the streets of London
and into Never Never Land. Of course you'll meet up with Tinker Bell,
the Darlings and Captain Hook during your journey! Guests in wheelchairs
must transfer to ride.
PINOCCHIO'S DARING JOURNEY
- Climb
aboard your wooden car and follow Pinocchio through his adventures, with
Jiminy Cricket as your guide! True to the tale, Pinocchio finds out
about the dark side of Pleasure Island, but all ends well when he is
back safely with Gepetto and is transformed into a real boy. Guests in
wheelchairs must transfer to ride.
SLEEPING BEAUTY CASTLE - Walk
through this classic castle and view the story of Sleeping Beauty. Be
sure and check out the gold spires on the castle. Walt wanted the spires
to sparkle, so he ordered them to be plated with gold. However, his
fiscally responsible brother Roy opposed spending the money to do
so…but that didn't stop Walt! He just waited until Roy was away on
business and had the gold plating done anyway! Must be fully ambulatory
to enjoy this attraction.
SNOW WHITE'S SCARY ADVENTURES
- Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off to the Wicked Queen's castle in this
journey through the famous story. Be forewarned, the title of this
attraction is there for a reason. Although this is a slow-moving ride
like all the other dark rides in Fantasyland, the scenes with the Wicked
Queen can be quite frightening to young children. Guests in wheelchairs
must transfer to ride.
STORYBOOK LAND CANAL BOATS
- Board
these picturesque boats and journey through Storybook Land, where you
can cruise past miniature showcases of some classic Disney features.
Guests in wheelchairs must transfer to ride.
