Windstar
Cruise Lines
Considered
the most romantic of the major cruise lines, Windstar
offers a very different approach to cruising.
Certainly the most unique feature of the line
of Windstar cruises is the fact that all have
sails (albeit computer controlled, but still very
nice nonetheless). While very elegant (and certainly
on the upper end of the price spectrum), the line
manages to remain fairly informal, offering a
very unique experience. The itineraries on Windstar
are equally unique, with cruises to Costa Rica,
Belize, Europe, and the Mediterranean. The relaxed
atmosphere on board is unstructured and definately
for the "outdoor" type who enjoys watersports
more than show lounges.
The
dining is open seating, and the menu is very sophisticated.
The bridge is "open", allowing passengers
to stop by and see the facility at any time. There
is only one class of cabin on board these ships
(with the exception of suites), and each cabin
boasts TV, VCR, CD Player, Mini-bar, and a teak-deck
bathroom.
There
are no childrens facilities on board the Windstar
Crusies, but older children should revel in the
great range of watersports on offer.
